iPAQ Tech Stuff
Most people think its a bit of a fancy organiser. but with the processing power of a
laptop and memory to match iPAQ are being used in new solutions every single day. Here's a few thoughts if your technically minded.
Note if you want further information on how to do these or want to license a solution then drop me a question via the contact pages.
1. Download only sync stations
(Not as easy as it would seem). We needed a solution at a conference that would allow anyone to walk up with their iPAQ and drop it into a cradle and this would load the iPAQ with a pile of conference information. Took ages to develop but got a great solution in the end.
2.
Connect
to the internet through your cradle with Pocket PC 2000
This shows how to connect your device
to the internet through your cradle. Good if you need to test what a web site
would look like on a pocket pc device.
3. Dial the internet through your mobile phone with Infrared
(No
cable required) If you have a mobile with infrared then you can dial the internet with your ipaq. Ok the speed isnt great but hey its a solution that will only cost you the call charges.
4. Build applications for pocket pc. Microsoft have released for download a version of Visual Basic and Visual C specifically for developing on the Pocket PC platform. And best of all it's free. Get it here
